David Smith is a man who is from simple beginnings where it was common nature to help those in need. Growing up in a small town in Barnesville, Georgia, David was a strong big brother to his siblings. By having to take on this role at an early age, he has cultivated skills that have transferred over into helping those in need. He is a motivated individual who has always taken interest in his church and community. David always felt that reaching out to others was easy for him and very rewarding.

David's home church in Georgia was White's Chapel CME. He was a third generation member of that church where his grandfather was a founding members. As young man in the church he was involved in various activities and served as the youth group president.

David attended college in Illinois for several years before joining the United States Air Force. He spent four years serving in the military and left with an honorable discharge. David returned to Illinois and got right back into the swing of things by joining a local church. He served as a youth leader for 5 years where he ministered to the hearts and minds of young people. David also coached basketball with young men from 7th grade to High School. His teams were so successful, that they won league championships 3 years in a row. After coaching, David refereed 4th grade boys basketball at Walker Elementary School. David used athletics as a way to positively impact young men in every area of their lives.

Currently, David serves as the Vice President of Brother 2 Brother and has been a member for 6 years. As Vice President of Brother 2 Brother, David works hard to help young people with scholarships, deliver dinners to families who are in need, and provide coats and Christmas gifts to children during the holiday season. David realizes that through God's blessings, Brother 2 Brother has been blessed with the honor to touch the lives of people with the love of God.

David lives in with his wife Nikki and his two daughters Joslynn and Jasmine.
